So much of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about early diagnosis. Checking yourself. Booking  the mammogram. That all matters.

But not much is said about living with cancer. About those of us who've been through treatment, and then been told it's back.

In April 2021, I was told my breast cancer had returned and spread to my lungs and bones. Giving me a stage 4 diagnosis.

I read somewhere that you get to choose. For me there is no choice. I choose life

My motivation is to focus on the here and now, and fill my life with love and adventures and to create something fucking awesome as a legacy. I have decided that Hākinakina is my legacy and I will keep on making beautiful swimwear and to use  my creativity and businesses as a financier to my healing. 

That's why Breast Cancer Awareness Month is so important to me. So this month 10% of every sale will go to breast cancer research.
