We believe that sustainability is a given and that ALL businesses should strive for zero impact; with this in mind, our soft yet strong Hākinakina fabric is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles and garbage from the sea. It’s manufacture also emits fewer greenhouse gases than traditional fabric, uses waterless printing and is powered purely by green solar energy.

Knowing that fashion is the second most polluting industry after mining, we work hard to create timeless, versatile staples that are made to outlast fashion trends, and as we manufacture our swimwear to order, wastage is kept to the absolute minimum. Plus, when your piece does eventually wear out, send it back to us for recycling and we will give you an exclusive discount to use on your next Hākinakina purchase.
